Please don't critique, as this is just me style-experimenting.

Somebody help me...
I have officially been taken over by the horrible dark soul only a few have been able to identify as "writer's block" before it completely consumed them. I think I'm next...

That, and I officially love Peter Murphy.

Damn, I finished this a week ago...why oh why am I submitting this now? Hell, I don't know. I drew this a couple of months ago, back in school, and it took a couple of days to finish. Six, I think? Anyway, this all started with me wanting to try out a cartoonish style. If you ask anyone I know about this, they would tell you that this looks like one of my friends (in fact, the brown haired girl from my photos). I'll tell you right now, it was originally supposed to be her...but as I was drawing the body I decided to make it some other random girl instead. This came out completely different than I wanted it--she was supposed to be looking to the side with a confused expression, but me and my art skills said "NO, STICK TO THE SAME POSE AND EXPRESSION YOU DRAW EVERYTHING ELSE IN" and change was kicked out of my stomach.

So, I was actually surprised on how this came out so nice. The sketch, I mean. Usually, if I don't draw something "from the heart", it doesn't come out as I would have wanted. Same with writing--it needs to come out in a blast, not me forcing it out. But yeah, the sketch was beginning to get smudged, so I scanned it in fear that it would have came out like one of my favorite little doodles that was killed by the darkness I would like to call my stupid pencil smudges. Anyway, so it was rotting in my files until I salvaged it due to boredom and got working on it. The coloring was coming out nice at first--simple, yet rough--but as I continued, some of the coloring just didn't work out, and I couldn't think of a good color scheme anymore. By the time I hit the strap I was sick of this and got it done for the sake of getting it done.

I don't think it came out so bad, but not so good, either. Basically, I drew this as a way to do a cartoonish-like style--although, since I keep wanting to draw more and more detailed, that was hard for me. And GAH--HOW CAN CARTOONISTS MAKE FEMALES HAVE SUCH NICE EMPHASISING CURVES AND STILL MAKE THEM LOOK HEALTHY AND NOT LIKE STICKS?

I need to figure out their secrets...
Yeah, I used to do cartooning back in sixth grade, but it didn't work out. I like the bridge between realism and some other unnamed side better.

Making the coloring was easy--I just applied the filter Fibers to everything to make it look like it was colored on worn paper. I also used that fake-charcoal lining thing like with Link that one time.

...god, what's with me. My descriptions are making no sense!

Anyway, just a reminder, I'm heading out on vacation as of Sunday, and I'll be coming back in a week. See you then.

This is mine. 'K thanks.

Night.

PS-I didn't write that "Ha" on the side. That was from one of my classmates, but I liked it so I kept it.

I also don't like the eyes...they really didn't work with the coloring. Some kid also said that he wanted the shirt and pants...interesting.

Wow, I had so much stuff that I wanted to say, and I forgot it all and just kind of went on a rampage. This is what writer's block does to you when you're trying to write a freakin' one-shot that you wished was already up by now!

why do you write such longass descriptions that have nothing to do with the drawing
