Current Desktop: Twilight

Because I've had that last one since August of 2005, plus it looked really bad and had a recolor of Sally on it, I decided it was time for a new desktop. Actually, I've been thinking of doing a new one for a while, but had no idea what to. I didn't want to make it a picture that I've submitted in my gallery, because like I said with my avatar I only like submitting things once. I also didn't choose a pre-made one, because I honestly think I should have something done by me that I can look at every day, and not something by some one else. I'm not going to submit this a seperate picture, because it was not fully done by me.

So anyways, I've been wanting to draw Midna for a while, so I quickly sketched her and put it onto Photoshop. I wanted to make her warping, so I wouldn't have to draw the Fused Shadow (because that would've killed it and I would've hated it forever. And yes, I have tried drawing it.) I wanted to put human Midna on the other side and doing that sparkly-warping thing that she did in the credits, but I didn't look right, and I thought that I'd have no room for my icons.

So there's a lot of stuff I screwed up on Midna, like her face should'nt be so large and her leg should probably have a marking there, and the markings are most likely wrong considering how I had to use fan art as a reference, because the one I was using at Wikipedia didn't show her markings correctly.

The glow of the arms made the ligthing look flat one I merged all of the layers, so sorry about that. This was a usual pen tool and dodge and burn kind of thing, and it was set to Highlights and Shadows for the most part. I made her ponytail a gradient, because I think it looks better like that, but I'm not too fond of how I did it. The Fused Shadow was a filter effect, and it looks a whole lot better than the first one I did. I managed to get the golden tint the twilight gives by going to Color Balance and putting the hightlights, midtones, and shadows high on yellow and red. I've wanted to do a twilight picture for a long time, because I love the color it gives to things, even if wolf Link's white fur sometimes gives me a head ache.

I took a screen shot from here [link] to get Hyrule Castle, because I completely love how that looks in the game and I just suck at re-creating backgrounds. Although, I took it when most of the squares were not visible, and made them myself. At first they looks terrible because Photoshop didn't do what I hoped it would've, and made the sqaures look like bad rhombises. But then I tried again using a different method, and it came out better. I deffinetly like it. To create it, I made squares, then duplicated the layer about eight or nine times. Then I blurred a few and changed the Opacity on all of them, and used the Free Transformation option to give it the shape. While holding down Crtl I clicked the right middle button, and dragged it over so the sqaure looked like how they are now. It was fun to tell you the truth, perhaps if enough people ask I'll show how to do a twilight effect, or something.

Originally I wanted to put a cloud that looked like Wolf Link in the background, sort of like the game's logo, but I decided I should only do that if I made the background.

Alright, as for icons: the ones on the bottom left are the main ones I use-Photoshop CS2 (I'm hoping I'll get CS3 for Christmas), Flash, although I hardly/never use it, and I can't find the Dress Up Candy Ice game I was working on. But that was from like...August or something, so it's time for version two. After Flash is the internet, then my confusing scanner, and then the Recycle Bin. Too bad I can't rename it, or else I'd name it crap xD

The icons above are just random crap that either came with the computer or my step dad installed. I don't know anything about them, so I don't touch them. I used to have Zoo Tycoon, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and The Sims 2 Pets installed, but I haven't had a chance to put it on this computer and I can't re-install Zoo Tycoon, for I have an expansion pack and I don't know where I put or if I even have the original disk. It's a shame, I haven't played it since August and I really loved that game. I'm afraid of the new one, though xD;;

Holy crap, man! That's a huge description for desktop! Alrgiht, I'll shut up now. Funny how I just got up thirty mintues ago xD Had a dream about a possible SatAM episode. It was cool xD

EDIT [9/3/09]: As of sometime last month or July or something my desktop has been changed to a totally craptastic Photoshop'd Prince of Persia job! It's too bad to post, though, so instead enjoy this old thing!
