The Anger Within the Fire

Ok, now this image is so old. I mean, really, it's ANCIENT. You wanna know what the date of the sketch is? JANUARY FOURTH. HOLY CRAP.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, I can still remember drawing this, too! I know my old pictures suck, but this one is only good because I pretty much used a ref sheet to draw this =cough= meaning I just copied the whole picture =cough=, and before I started to draw Sonic fan characters, which was May '05 actually, I usually just copied pictures. Wow, I've changed.

ANYWAYS, you know how in Sonic X Sonic turns super evil, right? Dude, I wudda loved to see that episode, but I hate Sonic X...and 4Kids probably dubbed it to the extreme. But yeah, for those of you who've played Sonic Rush (which was the last of Sonic Team's good games), you'd know that Blaze is an opposite side of Sonic, kinda. Well, she's more like Knuckles, since she protects the emeralds of her world, the Sol Emeralds. Plus she's anti-socail and shy, and fight a lot. BUT SHE STILL ROCKS, DAMNIT!!!

So, a few days ago I came across someone else's version of a Dark Blaze, which reminded myself that I had scanned this picture forever ago but gave up on coloring it. HOWEVER, since I have gained better skills, I gave it another shot in lineless mode-kinda-thing.

I fooled around a lot with smudge tools, filter affects, layer properties, and my Eye Candy 4000 filter plug in. I used a funky shapped brush underneath the airbrushes to add that furry look. I like how it looks on the cuffs, too x.X The tail could use some work, though...
The cloth and collar were given texture from the texture section of layer properties. Oh yeah, the eyes are glowing, but it's hard to see. Fooled around with filter affects for the jewels.

Sorry if some of the things here were colored differently (I am aware that the inner ears should be tan, not white), I did hald of this without looking at a refrence for coloring, but I did take the colors from an offical piece of Blaze artwork.

Flames were added by Eye Candy. There's a coloring option called "Black Halo" that makes it black which I used, but then changed the Hue to purple.

Yes, I do know that Dark Super Sonic is all black with some blue aura and white eyes, but screw that! This looks better!
I have no idea if those are feathers or fur on her head...nice touch though.
The legs aren't fuzzy, 'cause that'd look weird.

The best part about Blaze is that not only does she kick-ass, but she's the only female Sonic character with a super form. I might draw that, still thinking. Seeing all the fan work of that though, I'm guessing that spoiler warning was pointless, eh? xD

So yeah, that's it =3 I need to get off like...now, so I'll make a journal about Philly tomorrow. It was cool, I'll tell ya know. They call Philly cheese steaks there, Philly cheese steaks xD But they taste way better. The place looks like a cleaner, historic New York city but with less buildings and cheese steak stands on every corner instead of hot dogs xD

I'll dedicate this to ~Diamondheartcat, since I used Dark Blaze in a role play me and her did half of, and plus tomorrow's her birthday, and I'm completely unprepared x.X I hope this'll count as a present!

Ya know, I did start a dress up Candy Ice game...but I just left everything on my to-do list and got started on this xD
